The iconic LYNX was born in 1967, out of Kurikka, Finland and has been developing innovations for over five decades. What started as a work snowmobile, commonly used by reindeer herders in Lapland and farmers in the south of Finland, good for hauling and focused on performance on snow, quickly grew into one of the top sports performance sleds in the world.

The LYNX snocross sports snowmobile developed between 1979 and 1985. It was unheard of at the time as snowmobiles were solely utility vehicles only. Based on the narrow tracked utility sled, the idea turned out great and sport sled production began. From an underdog no one was watching, suspecting the LYNX would never become anything, to winning countless races, Lynx sport sleds were born. The snocross sled for Finland made its way to Sweden to race in national and international championships and in 1985 it won every race for LYNX riders.

Continuing their growth though until 1995 LYNX strived to reach a broader audience and consumer base looking for a sexier and sportier machine, thus the iconic GLS 3300. Soon after there were professionals riding, families, fisherman, and in two years they took the whole market and became a huge success. The innovation continued throughout the years, with enhanced PPS suspension taking riding quality and experience to new levels, and when Bombardier acquired the company in 1992 they started to develop products for the North American market. The RAVE RE model was one of the turning points, designed for tenacious riders and fierce trail systems, it’s now entering the North America market. Insightful and ambitious professionals and snowmobiles enthusiast have helped Lynx to grow during the years, following their main inspiration from the animal world, the LYNX, or angry cat. The main idea was to create evolution rather than revolution, and the new designs support the aggressive riding in bumpy trail conditions, a perfect fit for North American soil.

Having a sled takes you places you may not otherwise go, where you can experience a moment of freedom, release and peace; a feeling of not being caught up by so many other things, where like-minded individuals carve among the clouds and race across powdered prairie.
