Did you know? Saskatchewan is known for the best fresh water fishing in the world. Whether you're a first timer or seasoned fisherman, the amount of fishing in Saskatchewan is endless. What type of fish can you find here? Nothern Pike, Walleye, Lake Trout, Arctic Grayling, Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout, Brook Trout, Yellow Perch, Small Mouth Bass, and 61 other species in lakes and rivers.  Here are our top lakes for you to check out.

Tobin Lake located near Nipawin, holds the world ice fishing Walleye record with an 18.3 pound Walleye pulled out. Cruise up to the Tobin Lake Resort and you'll find all the amenities you need - they have a store, restaurant with delicious food, and lake view cabins. You can also find Northern Pike, Perch, Burbot, White Fish and Goldeye. The lake flows primarily out of the North Saskatchewan River so if you get really lucky, you might even be able to catch a Sturgeon. 

Cree Lake located west of Reindeer Lake in Saskatchewan is the fourth largest lake in Saskatchewan.  Inaccessible by road, this lake can only be reached by a float plane. It's pristine with unspoiled waters and holds massive Northern Pike, Lake Trout, Walleye and Graylings. If you're looking to catch trophy fish this summer, check out Cree Lake. You surely won't be disappointed.  

Keeley Lake isn't large but it holds a reputation for being one of Saskatchewan's best places to fish. You'll find Northern Pike and Walleye. Keeley Lake is located 158 km north of North Battleford, directly on Highway 4. The lodge caters mostly to hunters, though anglers are welcome. Keeley Lake Lodge offers a boat launch, cabins, gas, boat rentals and a small store and tackle shop. 

If you're a first time fisher and don't have the funds for a boat, you can fish the North Saskatchewan River. You'll find all sorts of species including Walleye, Northern Pike, Goldeye and even Lake Sturgeon. Land a Lake Sturgeon on your hook and you'll have a fight on your hands. If you do catch a Sturgeon ensure you take care gentle care of this endangered species as they are strictly catch and release.
